  • Kathy Petrino not only loves to travel, but luckily for the rest of us, she also really loves to write about her travels in a way that makes travel easier for everyone who reads her work. She loves to share her experiences because everyone else who can have fun and also avoid many of the problems that can happen. That means more tourism and more financial benefit to the best destinations. For example, she has written extensively about about one of her favorite travel destinations, the Napa Valley wine country in California.

Though Napa Valley the tourist destination has changed somewhat over the years, there are many aspects that are always the same. Years ago. A trip to the Napa Valley usually meant heading “up-valley,” to the wide variety of interesting small towns and villages, like Yountville, St. Helena, Oakville, and Calistoga, among others. People still visit there, but they are more likely to stay in downtown Napa these days. This is because Napa features many first-class hotels and elite restaurants, as well as a vibrant nightlife and more.

Of course, the main reason to visit Napa Valley is wine. However, everyone should know there is a lot more to see. Take di Rosa, an art preserve out on the Carneros Highway that holds the most significant contemporary art of any museum or collection in the entire Bay Area, as well as one of the largest in the entire world. In addition to an art adventure, travelers can cross the highway to the French chateaux Domaine Carneros for a sparkling wine or pinot noir tasting.
